A New Adventure Begins: Beards of War Goes to the Movies

By Cap’n Jack

Welcome to the very first blog post from Beards of War!

It feels fitting that our blog begins with an epic adventure—because this weekend, we’re heading to the theater to see The Odyssey, and we couldn’t be more excited.

This is the first summer release that has truly felt like an event to us: the kind of movie that demands a giant screen, a room full of people and an unreasonable amount of popcorn. Christopher Nolan taking on one of history’s greatest tales of adventure is already a compelling proposition. Add Tom Holland to the voyage, and The Odyssey became the movie that finally awakened our summer-movie excitement.

Fortunately, the adventure doesn’t end there.

In just a couple of weeks, Holland will trade the ancient seas for the New York skyline in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Apparently, we’ve found ourselves in the middle of a Tom Holland summer—and honestly, we’re here for it.

There’s something special about having movies to look forward to together. Summer films can turn an ordinary weekend into an occasion. They give us new worlds to explore, heroes to cheer for and plenty to discuss once the credits roll. After a quieter start to the season, the next few weeks finally feel packed with the kind of big-screen adventures we’ve been waiting for.

That same sense of anticipation makes this the perfect moment to launch the Beards of War blog. This will be a place for us to share what we’re enjoying, what has us excited and whatever else captures our attention along the way. Movies are only the beginning.

For now, our journey starts with The Odyssey. Then it’s onward to Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Here’s to epic voyages, friendly neighborhood heroes, great summer movies and the beginning of something new.

Welcome to the Beards of War blog. We’re glad you’re here.
