It's Thanksgiving week, and it feels like the right moment to stop and take stock of everything that's happened this year.
2025 has been a year of movement — literally. We've been filming across the country, chasing stories, and slowly assembling something we believe in. The kind of year that's exhausting in the best way.
Refining the Three-Act Structure
One of the most significant things we've worked on this year is the structure of This Is Not A Draft. Documentary filmmaking has a particular challenge: you're building a narrative from real life, which doesn't naturally organize itself into acts. You have to find the structure that already exists in the material.
We've spent a lot of time this year refining the three-act arc of the film — what the story is really about at its core, and how to make sure the audience feels the weight of it by the time the credits roll. It's closer now than it's ever been.
Florence International Film Festival
We're honored to share that This Is Not A Draft has been selected for the Florence International Film Festival. It's a meaningful recognition, and it continues to validate the choice to make this film the right way — slowly, carefully, with real attention to the people at the center of it.
Grateful
On a day set aside for gratitude, we're grateful for everyone who has supported this project — the veterans who trusted us with their stories, the crew who showed up even when it was hard, and the audience who keeps watching and sharing.
More updates coming as we move into 2026. We're not done yet.
