Jack Blair is an independent documentary filmmaker, live streamer, and US Army veteran with 16 years of military service. He is the founder and creative director of Happy Jack Media, where his work centers on veterans, communities, and the human stories that tend to get left out of the larger narrative — the ones that deserve to be told carefully, and remembered.
After leaving the military, Jack channeled his passion for storytelling into media production, first by building an online community for Overlanding — using nature immersion and off-roading as therapy for veterans with PTSD. That mission to amplify veteran voices grew into a full production career.
His debut documentary, This Is Not A Draft, follows Post-9/11 veterans navigating life after service. The film earned Best Feature Documentary at the Chandler International Film Festival and recognition from Hollywood Stage & Script. It is now streaming free on YouTube, Fawesome TV, and Relay.
Beyond documentary work, Jack has served as Production Coordinator on motion pictures, covered major live events as a field streamer and aerial photographer, and hosted the Veteran Stories Podcast through 2023. In 2023 he was honored to share his story with ASU's graduating class at the Fall Military Stole Ceremony.
Jack also volunteers with the AZ Veterans Resource Center — Arizona's central hub for veteran support in the East Valley — where he produces their weekly podcast, The Spotlight: Highlighting Veteran Voices, and is contributing to the design of a new veteran center with a dedicated stage and public gathering space for Arizona veterans.
From award-winning documentaries to live event coverage and podcast production, a cross-discipline body of work built around veterans and community.
